Away With The Fairies Again

Although he is still not out of the woods, my boy is beginning to heal- from the wounds and the shock!

Last week I finished machine quilting my latest art quilt,so I thought I'd let you peep at a little more of it. I'd love to show the whole piece, but I feel I ought to hold a bit back until it has been exhibited in November. You can see that it has much more texture now-as do my shoulders which get really knotted when I'm free-motion quilting!

When I feel more settled about my boy I'll start on the third quilt.

Away With The Fairies....

...............that's my state of mind a lot of the time!

I stitched the text using my trusty sewing machine this morning. It is always a bit scarey to start machine stitching on a piece you have spent a lot of time on in case it goes horribly wrong. It is so much harder to unpick than hand stitching! Thankfully, it went well and I'm really pleased with the result (though the photo is a little dark).

Now I need to stitch some French knots to dot the "i"s, then I can get on with the quilting.

Where Fairies Dwell

I didn't want to post while the Royal Wedding was on as I had no relevant photos and there are millions of them out there, but it was all lovely, Kate is beautiful and I wish the Royal couple every happiness!
So, from real life princesses to mythical fairies. My very favourite place in Skye is the Fairy Glen in Uig.

 We spent a wonderful day there while we were on holiday. It is very peaceful and has a farytale, "other-worldly" feel. There are many legends and stories and many believe that fairies really do dwell there. Whilst that isn't my experience, it is very easy to imagine that they do. I like to sit awhile and watch the eagles soar!
It is also fun to run up and down the little conical hills.
