Trip To Salford

My study room is piled with carefully packaged textile artwork at the moment. Tomorrow I am delivering the work to Salford Museum and Art Gallery for the Ten Plus Textiles group retrospective exhibition. The preview is on Saturday and I am really excited about it.

There are 16 members in the group and we have each put in around 4 pieces of work, spanning our time in the group, including a new piece each. There will also be some art  from associate members. Our work covers many textile arts, including beadwork, patchwork, mixed media, batik, quilting and weaving. It is very varied and wonderfully colourful.

More details about the group can be found here: http://www.tenplustextiles.com/

  5. What an interesting blog, introduced by a thought-provoking photo. The unusual wall painting of the dwellings is also a strangely modern interpretation. Something like this hieroglyphic view of a park by Swiss painter Paul Klee, http://EN.WahooArt.com/A55A04/w.nsf/OPRA/BRUE-8LT475.
The image can be seen at wahooart.com who can supply you with a canvas print of it.
